In 1989, Samuel J. Watts began a sole trader business that would lead to the birth of Watco Partners on October 1, 2006. Currently headed by two dedicated partners, Trevor Chapman and Jason Tarran, our Seymour-based firm has deep roots in the community.
We also operate an office in Kyneton and serve clients nationwide, specialising in small and medium enterprises, including agricultural, retail, and trade businesses, among other industries.

We now have an opportunity for Graduate and Experienced Accountants to join Watco Partners full-time on our remarkable journey of growth and community enrichment in Seymour, Victoria.
The Opportunity
As our newest Accountants, you will be providing support to our senior accountants and partners as they provide service to a range of professional clients, including small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and agricultural businesses.
This is a diverse role where you will undertake a variety of tasks to assist these businesses with their growth strategies. When working on business clients, you will work as their accountant, providing reconciliations, financial statements, and tax planning and long term growth strategies. When working with individuals, you will provide tax returns and tax planning assistance.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing financial statements, tax returns, and audits;
- Doing reconciliations, invoicing, and end-of-month tasks, including general ledger reconciliation and profit and loss statements;
- Working collaboratively to solve challenges and provide solutions to clients; and
- Providing tax services to individuals.
As an experienced Accountant, you will be expected to do approximately 80% billable hours per week.
About You
As our Accountant, you will hold a Bachelor’s of Accounting, Commerce, Business or equivalent and at least two years of experience in public practice accounting.
Looking for a long-term career where you can develop and advance your career, you will understand public practice, and be excited about providing quality service for your clients and going above and beyond.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously are needed for this role, and experience with Xero is preferred. You will also hold or be working towards your CA/CPA.
Remuneration & Benefits
As our Accountants, you will receive a generous salary circa $50,000 - $85,000, negotiable dependent on skills and experience, plus super and great benefits!
